ABUJA, NIGERIA - The immediate sack of the Plateau state Commissioner of Police (CP), Undie Adie, was today (Tuesday) ordered by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris.
The removal is coming 48 hours after the killing of no fewer than 100 people in Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South Local Government Areas of the state.
The sacked police commissioner has however been replaced by Bala Ciroma, who until his recent appointment was the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
The removal and replacement of the Plateau state police boss is contained in a statatement issued by the Spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Matthias Tyopev.
No reason was given for the sack of CP Adie.
