*PRESS STATEMENT*

Our attention have been drawn to a communique issued on the 27th of April 2019 by one Conference of Orhionmwon Youth Stakeholders. 

Our stand

1. That COYEG remains the umbrella body of all Civil Society Organisations in Orhionmwon where-in over ten pressure groups cutting across the six axis of the LGA are registered. 

2. That we will not stop any group of friends from meeting to discuss their opinions on the development of Orhionmwon, but we must advise them to watch their words as the communique does not represent the true state of affairs in Orhionmwon as at today. 

3. Though we have our reservations as it affects the slow pace of work in Orhionmwon and the non functionality of some government officials from the area, we still think that strategic approach is a better way forward than blatant insults from people who felt their political interest is not been served. 

4. That we are very much interested in the 2020 governorship election because we have a history with the current adminstration as touching the 2015 Orhionmwon People's Summit, and very soon we shall be meeting with the state authority to review our previous agreement and possible way forward. 

5. That the people of Orhionmwon have since passed a vote of confidence on Rt.Hon. Patrick Aisowieren, Hon. Nosayaba Okunbor,  Hon. Roland Asoro, Hon Osemwengie Osazee -Ero, Hon Osamwonyi Atu and Hon Slyvester Okoro  as the preferred political leadership in the LGA following the massive support in the just concluded elections.

6. That Orhionmwon youths must refrain from been used by a particular governorship aspirant in the name of making quick money to cause disaffections among serious minded youths in the LGA. 

7. That our impact in Orhionmwon since our inauguration is audible to the deaf and visible to the blind, and we will not keep quiet and allow a few political hustlers erode the gains made so far.
