An interview with Mc Porkupyne Osagie Idedia by Mega House News about why he is throwing his support to Godwin Obaseki in the September 19 Edo Gubernatorial election.
Pokupyne is a renowned comedian known for his funny Crazy skits online and also The Founder of (REGOPH) RATIONAL ENTERTAINERS FOR GODWIN OBASEKI & PHILIP.
When asked about his reasons for pulling such abnormal movement, his stated that sometimes you need to be abnormal to pass a message to normal people, that comedians are known for being abnormal.
He further explained his reasons behind the #DontLeaveMe Challenge, he needed to do something different so he embarked on a short skit where broke a television. Currently the skit has gone viral.
He was asked about his motive behind REGOPH and why is he supporting Godwin Obaseki reelection? He has made quite a reasonable amount of skits in promoting the achievements by Godwin Obaseki.
This where his words.
"Thank you for that question, i have been a politician from school back then in AAU Ambrose Ali University, i was director of Socials in my department and also participated in sug. I love being rational about things, most will say Politicians nor be people wey dem dey work follow and all that. I love the way Godwin Obaseki brought his wisdom into play being a technocrat and a financial economist. I love his ideology of putting things in order, he has worked in all sectors in the economy health sector, power project etc. If he doesn't have the people at heart he wouldn't delve into all this projects. And sometime ago pensioners have been wailing for their pensions but in Obaseki Administration pensioners smiles every month. If Godwin Obaseki administration could figure out that building human capacity is the main thing then i should support/work with them."
He also stressed about GIS, how it has helped the edo citizens.
Pokupyne was asked about the reactions of fans towards his decision in support Godwin Obaseki Reelection?
He said " he's not concerned about who looted money from the government but he's here to support Obaseki Because he has indeed proven worthy of being a leader. Not to mention the pensioners who are now happy inspite of limited resources and indebtedness, and he has been able to do things within a limited time. If anyone is supporting the other party it's not his business his own is seeing Obaseki as the best man for the job.
He further encouraged others that this few words he has said should convince you about voting for Godwin and the only reason one will say Godwin hasn't done well its because that person is looking for self aggrandisement. He said he started the REGOPH movement on his own, he stated that 80% of youths today just need the money, if no money i can't work for you. But if you believe in a course, start it in a long run people will notice you its just about the money it's about what you believe in.
Goodluck Osama Ogbeide said gone are those days where will write our vision and make it plain. But will should act the vision.
When asked about his team REGOPH it was him in his friends?
He said, he had a some people who had the same vision with him and he got some persons from other local governments to join him in his vision.
In conclusion, he said he needs people to enlarge the frontiers of the group, other entertainers who are interested are welcomed even after politics well still remain.
